The rising popularity of CBD is hard to ignore. This natural plant extract has gained a reputation for being an effective tool to improve your overall well-being. One of the most crucial questions that new users ask is how much CBD oil one should take. The answer isn't that straightforward and depends on several factors like age, gender, and weight. Finding the ideal CBD dosage that works for you is essential for getting the desired benefits and avoiding any potential side effects. In this blog, we'll cover everything you need to know about CBD dosing based on body weight, including the daily use for different CBD product types.
First things first, let's start with the general rule of thumb for CBD dosage based on your body weight. Typically, people take about 1-6mg of CBD per 10lbs of body weight, but there's no one-size-fits-all approach. It's important to consult a medical professional or conduct your research to find a dosage that works best for you. Keep in mind that the ideal CBD dosage may vary depending on your daily routine, metabolism, and reasons for using CBD.
Here's a simple breakdown of how much CBD oil you should take daily based on your body weight:
Body Weight | Low Dose (mg) | Medium Dose (mg) | High Dose (mg) |
---|---|---|---|
80-100 lbs | 6-12mg | 13-18mg | 19-25mg |
101-150 lbs | 10-20mg | 21-27mg | 28-45mg |
151-200 lbs | 15-30mg | 31-45mg | 46-65mg |
201-250 lbs | 20-40mg | 41-55mg | 56-85mg |
Over 250 lbs | 25-50mg | 51-75mg | 76-150mg |
It's crucial to start with a low dosage and gradually increase it every week until you feel the desired effects. If you experience any side effects like fatigue or dry mouth, decrease your dosage.
Here is my personal CBD Regimen, Lathan Scoggins (Pursuit CBD Founder), Weight: 190lb Male

Like any regimen, mine changes with how I am feeling that day. Consistency is key when using CBD. Results may take 3-4 days to become apparent so don't stop taking it after one day with no results!
I am also currently experimenting with other natural ingredients such as ashwagandha and valerian root to enhance the effects of focus/stress relief during the day and calm/relaxation for sleep. Keep a look out for a blog talking about that later on!
The next factor to consider when finding your ideal CBD dosage is the type of CBD product you're using. CBD tinctures, gummies, capsules, and topicals have different forms of administration, absorption rates, and concentration levels.
CBD tinctures come in a small bottle with a dropper. The dropper allows for precise dosing and easy administration. A standard CBD tincture bottle contains 30ml of liquid with a concentration ranging from 250-3000mg. Depending on your body weight, you can start with a lower dose of 5-10mg and work your way up as needed.
CBD gummies are a popular choice for people who want a discreet and tasty way to intake their daily CBD dosage. A standard gummy contains 10-25mg of CBD, so you can start with one gummy per day and gradually increase if necessary.
CBD capsules are a convenient option for people who want to intake their dosage without tasting the earthy CBD flavor. A single CBD capsule contains 10-50mg of CBD, so you can start with one capsule per day and gradually increase based on your needs. (Pursuit Capsules Coming Soon!)
CBD topical products like creams, lotions, and salves are absorbed into the skin to provide localized relief from pain, inflammation, and other symptoms. Dosage for topicals varies depending on individual needs.
Understanding CBD dosing based on body weight is essential for getting the most out of your CBD products. Remember, it's always best to start with a low dosage and gradually increase until you find the optimal dose for your body and needs. We hope this guide helps you make informed decisions and feel confident while using CBD. If you experience any side effects, consult a medical professional. Happy CBD-ing!

Cannabidiol, or CBD as it is popularly known, has become one of the most talked-about topics in recent years. It appears everywhere from beauty products to food supplements, and has a wide range of potential benefits. But with so much information out there, it can be tricky to understand exactly what CBD is and how it works. In this blog post, we'll look at the basics of CBD—including full-spectrum vs broad-spectrum CBD, the potential benefits of using CBD, dosage guidelines, and some popular products on the market.
The first step to understanding CBD is recognizing that there are two types available—full spectrum and broad spectrum. Both can be found in various types of products such as oils, tinctures, creams, lotions etc. Full spectrum refers to a product that contains all the cannabinoids found in the hemp plant (including up to 0.3% THC). Broad spectrum means that all cannabinoids are present except for THC. It's important to note that both forms provide potential benefits but they may differ depending on your individual needs and preferences.
CBD has been studied for its numerous potential health benefits including relief from anxiety and depression, relief from inflammation and pain due to physical activity or injury, improved focus and concentration levels, promotion of better sleep quality and overall well-being. Of course it’s important to keep in mind that more research is still needed for definitive results but many people have already experienced positive effects when using these products regularly over an extended period of time.
It's always best practice to consult with your doctor before beginning any new supplement regimen but when it comes to dosage recommendations for CBD products such as oils or tinctures you should start low then gradually increase until you find the amount that works best for you (generally speaking this will be between 10-20mg per day). Keep in mind that everyone reacts differently so even if one person finds relief with a certain dosage it doesn't necessarily mean you will too—so be sure to experiment until you find what works best for you! It's also important not to exceed recommended dosages as this could lead to unwanted side effects such as nausea or drowsiness.

We've all heard the term homeostasis, but what does it mean? Homeostasis is an important process our body undergoes every day to keep us healthy. It's a state of balance in our bodies that allows us to maintain a normal temperature, pH level, water content, and more. But how do we achieve this equilibrium? And can CBD help with homeostasis? Let’s dive into what you need to know about homeostasis and CBD.
Homeostasis is the process our body performs to maintain a stable internal environment. This means keeping your temperature, pH levels, glucose levels, water content, and other bodily functions at a normal level no matter what is going on around you. If something changes in the environment - like if you get too cold or too hot - your body will respond by adjusting its own internal environment accordingly.
Homeostasis is essential for keeping us healthy and functioning properly. Without it, our bodies would be unable to regulate their temperature or other vital bodily functions like they do now. This means that if we didn’t have homeostasis our bodies wouldn’t be able to tell when it was too hot or too cold outside and as a result we could overheat or freeze. We also wouldn't be able to regulate our blood sugar levels properly or make sure our organs are getting enough oxygen. All of these things are necessary for us to stay healthy and alive!
The body maintains homeostasis through feedback loops that involve hormones released from glands throughout the body. These hormones tell the brain when something isn't quite right in the body's internal environment so that it can react accordingly by releasing more hormones or adjusting certain bodily processes like heart rate or respiration rate. The brain also has something called "set points" which tell it how far off the ideal balance inside your body should be before making changes to bring it back into equilibrium.
For example, if your set point for temperature says that anything below 95°F (35°C) should trigger your body's cooling mechanisms then once your internal temperature drops below this number your brain will send signals for sweat glands to release sweat which in turn cools you down. Similarly, if your set point for glucose levels says that anything above 80 mg/dL should trigger an increase in insulin production then once your glucose level rises above this number your brain will send signals for insulin production so that the excess sugar can be removed from circulation in order to bring everything back into balance again. In addition to this feedback loop system there are also other processes such as respiration rate adjustments or vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels) that help maintain homeostatic balance as well!
Homeostasis and CBD
Research suggests that CBD may be beneficial in helping maintain homeostatic balance within the body because of its ability to interact with cannabinoid receptors located throughout various systems including the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is responsible for regulating many bodily functions including appetite, sleep cycles, mood regulation, pain sensation, memory formation/retention, inflammation response and more! By interacting with these receptors directly CBD may be able to help keep everything balanced by providing relief from conditions such as chronic pain or anxiety which can often disrupt one's ability to achieve a state of equilibrium within their own bodies!
Furthermore some studies suggest that CBD may even have neuroprotective properties due its antioxidant activity which could further contribute towards maintaining homeostatic balance within our brains!
Overall having a balanced internal environment is key for staying fit and healthy both mentally and physically! Thankfully there are ways we can work towards achieving this goal such as maintaining good nutrition habits exercising regularly controlling stress levels etc but did you know there might also be another option available? Research suggests that using products containing CBD may help provide relief from certain conditions associated with disrupting one's ability to achieve a state of equilibrium within their own bodies such as chronic pain anxiety etc making them another potentially helpful tool on ones journey towards achieving overall healthiness! Ultimately only you know what works best for you so remember do research consult professionals if needed & always use caution when trying out new things =) Happy exploring!

Inflammation is a natural response of the body’s immune system when it detects injury or infection. It is characterized by redness, swelling, pain and heat in the affected area. Left unchecked, chronic inflammation can lead to serious health issues such as heart disease, cancer, autoimmune diseases and more.
Fortunately, there are ways to reduce inflammation—namely with CBD oil. Let’s explore how CBD works for inflammation in more detail.
CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of over 100 compounds found in cannabis plants known as cannabinoids. Unlike THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD does not produce a ‘high’ or psychoactive effects because it does not interact with the same receptors in the brain that THC does.
Instead, CBD interacts with endocannabinoid receptors throughout the body to produce numerous therapeutic benefits including anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation throughout the body.
CBD has been found to interact with both CB1 and CB2 receptors located throughout the body which play a key role in regulating inflammation levels. When these receptors are activated through the use of CBD oil, they send signals to the central nervous system which then helps reduce inflammation by suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokines and activating anti-inflammatory cytokines within cells. This reduces both pain and swelling associated with inflammation without any harmful side effects like those experienced from traditional medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
All in all, using CBD for inflammation can be an effective way of reducing symptoms without any harmful side effects associated with traditional medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. For those who are new to using CBD products for medical purposes, we recommend consulting your doctor first before beginning any treatment regimen so you can make an informed decision about what type of product will work best for you based on your specific needs and lifestyle habits.
Ultimately, finding balance between lifestyle changes and alternative treatments like CBD oil may be just what you need if you suffer from chronic inflammation due to health conditions like arthritis or fibromyalgia.
With proper research and guidance from your healthcare provider, incorporating CBD into your daily routine could provide significant relief from symptoms caused by inflammatory conditions!

Everyone experiences stress from time to time. Stress can be beneficial in some instances; however, long-term exposure to stress can have a negative physical and mental impact. Fortunately, there are natural methods of reducing stress levels, such as CBD products. Let’s dive into what makes CBD an effective method for managing stress.
Stress is the body’s response to difficult or dangerous situations. It is a normal reaction that helps us respond quickly and appropriately to potential harm or danger. When we sense danger, our body releases certain hormones that can increase strength, energy, alertness, focus, and blood pressure in order to help us cope with the situation. However, when this reaction occurs too often or for prolonged periods of time it can lead to long-term physical and psychological effects such as anxiety and depression.
Long-term exposure to stress has been linked to many issues including fatigue, weakened immune system, cognitive decline over time, increased risk of heart disease/stroke/diabetes etc., digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), weight gain or loss, hair loss/graying of hair prematurely etc., skin issues like eczema or psoriasis etc., higher alcohol consumption/smoking etc., and mental health problems such as depression or anxiety.
CBD products are known for their potential therapeutic benefits on various ailments including pain relief, inflammation reduction and more recently for helping manage stress levels. Studies suggest that CBD works by interacting with the endocannabinoid receptors in the brain which help regulate emotions and control mood swings associated with stress. Additionally it also helps reduce cortisol levels in the body which is a key hormone associated with stress management. Apart from reducing cortisol levels it also helps relax the body by boosting serotonin production which leads to better sleep quality at night and improved concentration during the day while also helping reduce anxiety and depression which are both common symptoms associated with long term stress.
